Recommendation for the Postgraduate Programme in AVT

The Postgraduate Programme in Audiovisual Translation that I am responsible for at the AMU School of English has obtained the recommendation of the Polish Association of Audiovisual Translators (STAW).

Launching the Postgraduate Programme in Audiovisual Translation

The Postgraduate Programme in Audiovisual Translation at the AMU School of English will be officially launched this coming Saturday (20 February). Introductory lectures will be given by Prof. Teresa Tomaszkiewicz (Adam Mickiewicz University) and Mary Carroll (Titelbild, Berlin). Other special guests include Ms. Anna Celińska, President of the Polish Association of Audiovisual Translators.

Advisory Boards

I’ve recently been invited to Advisory Boards of two conferences. One is Languages and the Media - 8th International Conference and Exhibition on Language Transfer in Audiovisual Media (6-8 October 2010, Berlin) and the other is the Young Linguists’ Meeting in Poznań (23-25 April 2010, Poznań). I won’t be able to attend the latter one since I will be in Bangor, Wales, delivering a paper at a workshop organised by the ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism in Theory and Practice. The workshop organised in a series “One brain, two languages: Bridging neuroscience and linguistics” focuses on “Bilingualism, Translation and Interpretation”.
